Medicare Open Enrollment – TIPS
Open Enrollment for supplemental and Medicare Part D plans for Initial Enrollment Period (IEP) or Fall Open Enrollment, began October 15th and ends December 7th. If you choose a new plan, it will go into effect on January 1, 2023. Go to https://www.medicare.gov or call 1-800-633-4227, to find the plan that is best for you.
Important Notes:
- Medicare Advantage plans are not recommended in our assisted living due to limited service vendors.
- Medication lists are needed when choosing a plan. You will be directed to enter in medications for the person you are signing-up for, in order to determine the best plan.
- It is important to make sure that the plan you choose is not exclusive with any pharmacies, due to the fact that we use Ruxton Pharmacy. Examples: CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, etc. You will be directed to enter a pharmacy name when choosing a plan. Enter Ruxton Pharmacy, unless you are providing medications through a mail order pharmacy. In that case, you would enter the name of the pharmacy you are using.
