St. Paul’s School

The boys from St. Paul’s School came out to College Manor for 3 consecutive days last week!  Our residents enjoyed the company of these young gentleman as they joked around playing charades, hangman and of course, bingo.  We see a lot of volunteers come through our doors but these guys were a pleasant change.  We are looking forward to the next visit.  Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!

Mardi Gras Armchair Travel

Laura, our art teacher, stopped by last week to give us a virtual tour of New Orleans.  She took us through Bourbon Street for a Mardi Gras celebration to remember.  Her descriptions of Mardi Gras history as well as visual display made it all the more interesting to listen to.

Roderick the Entertainer

Roderick is a local Baltimore artist who attends the Peabody Institute of John’s Hopkins University. He comes to College Manor each month for a special concert. We hope to have even more ,uber-talented students, come perform at College Manor this spring.

St. Paul’s School for Boys

Last Friday, we were visited by a fantastic group of volunteers from St. Paul’s School for Boys.  These young men acted as our honorary Bingo ushers.  College Manor resident’s enjoyed the Super Bowl themed bingo and the time spent with the respectful young gents from St. Paul’s School.  A larger group from St. Paul’s is planning their visit in March.  Here are some pictures from the afternoon in our chapel:

Songbirds

The Songbirds, a group of seniors from the Reisterstown Senior Center, came to visit on Wednesday, January 4th.  Even though Christmas had already passed, their holiday show was still pleasant to take in as the afternoon wound down.  Our more intimate setting guarantees everyone a front row seat.  Come see it first hand at College Manor.

Holiday Season

During the holiday season we tend to go a bit nuts with the decorations, while keeping it classy at the same time.  The residents of College Manor and staff have all taken part in the decorating this year.  If you have time, come see our 105 year old building at it’s best.

Turkey Time

It is getting close to Thanksgiving when we remember how thankful we are for all we have been given in life.  At College Manor we are thankful for all the residents families who have come through our doors and made this place their home.  Our staff also deserve thanks.  We are grateful to have a team of dedicated staff members that make this home what it is.  As a sign of gratitude, all employees of College Manor will be going home with all the fix-ins for a nice Thanksgiving dinner.  Be well and be thankful 🙂007
